Treat Yeast Infection Symptoms With Yeast Creams

February 2nd, 2009

Dealing with a vaginal yeast infection is embarrassing as well as annoying. No woman emjoys going to the drug store to pick up any medication for a vaginal infection. Continually going to see their doctor about chronic vaginal infections is another activity that’s not an enjoyable experience. Most women would be more comfortable if there was a way they could deal with the infection from the comfort of their own home.

Although 75% of women will suffer from at least one yeast infection, it is still embarrassing to pick up a tube of anti fungal cream and put it on the counter to be purchased. Even though the staff at the drug store/chemist won’t even bat an eyelid at the medication, the feeling that they know you have a vaginal infection is not a happy one.

As well as the purchase being embarrassing, OTC yeast creams only treat the symptoms of the infection. Vaginal discharge, burning and itching are only stopped by the medication while the cause of the infection goes untreated. This brings on the problem of the infection still remaining dormant, and it could eventually come back even stronger than before.

Going to the doctor’s office with another yeast infection is equally embarrassing. Nobody likes such an intimate examination to begin with even if it’s only the once. If you have a yeast infection, the embarrassment of having a doctor “inspect” you can be very nerve racking.

Even prescription strength medications only treat yeast infection symptoms. Even though they are more powerful than OTC creams, the infection will still lay dormant until the next time. Treating the infection from the cause is the only way to successfully treat a fungal infection.

Because more treatments are now available, home remedies are becoming more popular. Not only do you save the embarrassment of buying medication from a store or going to see a doctor, you can also treat the actual infection itself.

Before prescription drugs were available women were treating their yeast infections for hundreds of years successfully without any problems.

The important thing to remember is, you must see your doctor for your first diagnosis. It’s crucial to get a correct diagnosis so you know that you are actually treating a yeast infection and not something else.
